East Arnhem Region
Apply your high-level strategic leadership and management skills with your clinical expertise to deliver innovative and responsive Mental Health services.
NT Health’s East Arnhem Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Social Emotional Wellbeing Unit is a multi-disciplinary service that provides treatment and support to individuals, families and communities in the areas of alcohol and other drugs (AOD), mental health (MH) and social emotional wellbeing (SEWB).
The unit provides acute and sub-acute care to clients across the Region, which has a predominantly Aboriginal population of approximately 14,000 people across 11 remote communities and multiple homelands/outstations.
As Regional Director, your primary objective is to provide high level strategic advice to the Executive Director on the management and development of the provision of the MHAOD SEWB Services and drive high level leadership and clinical governance to the team, ensuring adherence to mental health standards and legislative frameworks.
Leading a dynamic team of clinical and non-clinical staff you will oversee the delivery of contemporary, innovative and responsive services to clients across the East Arnhem Region. This includes the ongoing development of services focused on integration, teamwork and continual improvement to ensure sustainable service delivery through robust operating systems. As a member of the East Arnhem Region Health Service, you will play a key role in implementing the Government’s health reform agenda and contribute to the development and implementation of business plans and strategic directions.
Located in Nhulunbuy you will conduct regular outreach visits to Groote Eylandt, to provide support to staff who are based on Island, and to meet with stakeholders as required.
Ideally, you have completed a degree level qualification in a relative discipline, have demonstrated experience in MHAOD SEWB and well-developed strategic leadership and management skills.
In return, you will be rewarded with a competitive remuneration package inclusive of 11.5% superannuation, 6 weeks annual recreation and 3 weeks personal leave, 3 days Christmas closedown leave, 17.5% annual leave loading and professional development opportunities to grow your experience in a supportive coaching and mentoring environment. Remote area incentive allowance, free accommodation, assistance with relocation and two return flights to Darwin annually.
This is a great time to consider a move to the Top End. Nhulunbuy is a fantastic place to live, learn and work. It is known for its pristine natural and marine environment, spectacular scenery, Aboriginal art and culture, and some of the best beaches in Australia.
