St John of God Bendigo Hospital is a 122-bed contemporary private hospital located in central Victoria providing high quality acute medical and surgical health care services for people in Bendigo and surrounding areas.
Your role at St John of God Bendigo Hospital
You will work alongside the Multi-disciplinary team to provide clinical nutrition and dietetic services to clients using advanced clinical practice skills. Ensures practice is in accordance to the Dietitians Australia (DA) Professional Standards and Code of Conduct and SJGHC policies and guidelines.
The Grade 2 Dietitian is expected to work independently and demonstrate a specialist level of knowledge and depth of experience. The Grade 2 Dietitian is expected to initiate and participate in teaching, training, research and quality activities, to supervise students and supervise and mentor junior caregivers.
The Position
- Provides a senior nutrition and dietetic service to patients/clients and or carers on an individual or group level for both inpatients and or outpatients including management of more complex patients.
- Coordinate the provision of special dietary requirements of patients/clients
- Provide consultation and support to medical, nursing, catering and allied health professionals within the Division, and external agencies, as appropriate.
- Uses expert nutritional knowledge acts as a consultant to the hospital catering service to inform menu development and compliance with the relevant hospital Nutritional standards.
- Document patients' medical nutrition therapy in the approved manner.
- Participate in multidisciplinary activities e.g. team meetings, ward rounds, or case conferences, as required.
- Participate in the delivery of education programmes within the dietetics service and for other caregiver groups.
- Develop and review dietary education resources.
You will have tertiary qualification in Dietetics and eligible for full membership with Dietitians Australia (DA) (formerly known as Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA)) and evidence of Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status.
To succeed you will demonstrate ability to plan and implement assessments and appropriately apply evidence based practice and dietetic knowledge to patient/client management, treatment interventions and discharge planning at advanced level of practice.

- Salary: $94,474 to $107,963 (pro rata basis for part time) plus11.5% superannuation
