Position: Occupational Therapist
Location: Wollongong, Nowra & South-West Sydney
Employment Type: Full-time / Part-time / Contract

Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments (including NDIS Functional Capacity Assessments) with clients to identify their functional goals and challenges.
Develop individualized therapy plans to enhance our clients' ability to perform their daily activities, increase independence, and improve their quality of life.
Provide therapeutic interventions to adolescents and adults with a range of disabilities, including physical, intellectual, neurological, neurodiverse and psychosocial disabilities (you may only focus on only a few areas if this is your preference).
Script and implement assistive technology (AT) solutions (including wheelchairs, beds, etc) if this is your area of expertise.
Design and implement home modifications (if this is your area of expertise).
Provide creative and practical therapy solutions to resolve the real-world difficulties our clients face each and everyday.
Effectively collaborate with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive, holistic care.
Guide and support clients in developing skills for daily living, education, employment, and community participation activities.
Complete relevant documentation, including relevant reports, progress notes, and assessments, within required timeframes.
Stay informed about funding processes, regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications & Essential Skills:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy.
Current registration with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).
Experience working within the NDIS and Aged Care sectors is highly desirable but not essential.
Ability to work with adolescents and adults with a wide variety of needs, including psychosocial, intellectual, cognitive, neurological and physical disabilities.
Experience working with a range of assistive technology (AT) products, or sound knowledge of AT products.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent rapport building skills.
Strong attention to detail.
The ability to really understand our participants difficulties and needs.
Strong organization and time management skills. Autonomy and self-direction skills are essential in this role.
A current NSW driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
A valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
CPR certificate.
First aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).

Our Principal Occupational Therapist will provide direct support across ALL your cases, including access to a peer review group. Once all parties are confident, support frequency will reduce accordingly. Regular case/file reviews will be completed throughout your employment to ensure high quality services are provided + continual clinician up-skilling.
