About the role

Join the dynamic team at Melbourne Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as an Oral Surgery Assistant. This full-time role based in Melbourne, VIC will see you providing vital support to one of our highly skilled oral surgeons, ensuring the smooth running of our busy practice. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional patient care.

This position is available to start immediately, Monday to Friday (no weekend work), with a rostered day off once a fortnight.

What you'll be doing

Assisting an oral surgeon during various procedures, including extractions, dental implants, and pathology

Preparing and sterilising surgical instruments and equipment

Maintaining detailed patient records and updating medical histories

Coordinating patient appointments and managing the dental surgery schedule

Providing compassionate support and guidance to patients throughout their treatment

Ensuring the dental surgery environment is clean, organised, and fully stocked

Undertaking administrative duties as required to support the smooth operation of the practice

What we're looking for

Must have Certificate III in Dental Assisting (or equivalent)

Certificate IV would be an advantage but not essential

Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills

Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, with a caring and empathetic approach

Proficient in using dental software and technology

Commitment to adhering to strict infection control protocols and safety standards

Ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit, collaborative team

Enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional development

Drivers licence as travel to external branch practices and hospitals will be required
