About Us:
Garden Studios is a growing, well-regarded residential builder committed to creating high-quality secondary dwellings with a focus on design, functionality, and innovation. Our business is growing and we are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Architect / Draftsperson to join us in shaping beautiful, custom residential studios.
Role & Responsibilities:
As an Architect / Draftsperson, you will be responsible for:
Designing innovative, functional, and aesthetically pleasing layouts.
Creating detailed accurate drawings and plans for various residential projects, ensuring they comply with building codes and regulations.
Collaborating with clients and sales team to understand their needs and vision for their studio.
Team leading the design and planning function including offshore design and delivery staff to support your outputs
Coordinating with construction and sales teams to ensure designs are executed as planned and to a high standard.
Managing planning applications and permits, ensuring all required documentation is prepared and submitted correctly.
Workflow management and ensuring designs and permits are completed on schedule.
Providing technical support to the construction team throughout the build process.
Skills & Experience:
Relevant qualifications in Architecture or Drafting or Architecture (e.g. Bachelor of Architecture, Diploma of Building Design, or equivalent).
Proven experience in residential design and drafting (mins 3 years).
Proficiency in design software (we use Revit).
Strong understanding of Australian building codes, regulations, and Victorian planning requirements.
Excellent communication and client liaison skills.
Strong attention to detail, with a creative and practical approach to problem-solving.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
