ABOUT THE ROLE:
Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller and working closely with the CFO and an impressive leadership team, you will be instrumental in working cross functionally with the business. This role will be critical in ensuring the company employs robust systems and processes and delivers accurate and comprehensive reports and analysis to internal and external stakeholders. This is a critical role to support the implementation of a new ERP (Sage X3) from a financial processes and systems perspective and subsequently transition to be the “system owner” ensuring data accuracy, maintenance, compliance with controls and streamlining processes.

This is a critical role to assist in driving the business through its aggressive hyper-growth ‘expansion phase’ whilst implementing best practice processes and procedures throughout the finance function. You will act as the “confidant” and “right hand person” to the Group Financial Controller and CFO, freeing them up to focus on strategically growing the business. Critical to the role will be developing a vision for superior service across the organisation, driving the performance of the function.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and working in partnership with the senior leadership team including the CFO, your key responsibilities as the Systems Accountant will include:

Sage X3 implementation:

  • Lead the transition of financial processes to Sage X3 by acting as a bridge between the Finance team, in-house IT team and external consultants
  • Support in the implementation and configuration of Sage X3 from the viewpoint of Chart of Accounts, Dimension/Segmentation and financial processes
  • Working alongside IT in identification and remediation of system related issues
  • User acceptance testing and system integration testing as directed
  • Development and implementation of ERP user guides and training
  • Lead development of financial reporting modules on the new ERP
  • Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues as they arise, in collaboration with Finance and IT teams

Post-implementation:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Sage X3, offering guidance and training to end-users to maximise application functionality and optimise their workflow
  • Management and maintenance of ERP master data and hierarchies, including stewardship of the Chart of Accounts and Dimension data
  • Maintain integrity of user access on the ERP
  • Build and maintain Sage reporting suite to suit the businesses needs (such as site reporting, Group consolidated reporting)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve finance-related system issues
  • Monitoring non-Sage system integrations (such as automatic feed of data from other systems)
  • Involvement in routine upgrades, maintenance, automation, process improvement and streamlining the financial process
  • Analyse processes for improvement, implementing plans and establishing best practices
  • Assist in month-end processes and support audits
  • To build and maintain a good working relationship with the organisation's Finance, Operations and IT teams
  • To project manage any changes to the accounting systems in liaison with the IT staff
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial and system processes
  • Provide ongoing functional support and training to our end-users
  • Perform ad hoc system tasks.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
The role demands of the successful candidate to confidently sit between finance and IT and manage systems and stakeholders across the wider organisation.

Key qualifications for the role are:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/CA preferred)
  • Proven experience in ERP system management in a medium to large organisation (Sage preferred but not essential)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required), data insight tools such as Power BI and other financial software (preferred)
  • A deep understanding of accounting principles and system integrations
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management abilities - able to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for process improvement and automation
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail
  • Effective time management skills
