The opportunity:
We’re looking for a junior designer with a strong digital skillset to join a high-performing communications team within a Federal Government agency.

This is an excellent early-career opportunity for someone who has recently completed TAFE or university studies in design or is currently in their final year.

You’ll be part of a supportive environment with mentoring from two experienced designers, and exposure to a wide range of work across video, animation, social media and digital campaigns.

In this role, you’ll:

• Use Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop essential) to create assets across digital and print platforms
• Design for social media, websites, presentations, print, and internal comms – tailoring content to suit different formats
• Contribute to video, animation, and motion-based content creation
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders to manage timelines and deliverables
• Stay up to date with emerging design trends, technologies, and AI tools

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has a strong portfolio or examples of work (including from study or freelance/part-time experience)
• Can manage competing deadlines and work with minimal supervision
• Communicates clearly and provides great internal service
• Has a creative mindset and problem-solving approach
• Is curious, adaptable and eager to learn

This role is open to candidates at different APS levels depending on experience:

• APS2: Final year students or recent grads with limited experience
• APS3-4: Completed study with demonstrated design or workplace experience
