About the Role
Grampians Health (GH) is seeking a Business Analyst (EMR) to support the implementation of the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system across the Grampians Health (GH) program of works.
The Business Analyst will collaborate closely with the Digital Health teams, Shared EMR team, multiple Grampians Health stakeholders, and the vendor to gather requirements for ICT deliverables and integration activities for the EMR delivery. Under the guidance of the Solution Architect, the position is responsible for undertaking discovery, business analysis, and developing and documenting solutions across all Grampians Health (GH) sites as required.
About the Grampians Health (GH) Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Project
The GH EMR Project is a large-scale clinical transformation project across Grampians Health, offering an opportunity to be part of the organization's digital transformation journey. The EMR project aims to deliver a comprehensive digital patient record across the ambulatory and inpatient areas of GH.
The GH EMR project team will be responsible for designing, building, and implementing the new EMR, drawing on clinical, health informatics, technology, and change expertise. The target completion of the project is late 2026.
The GH EMR project team will also work collaboratively with the EMR project team at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne as we partner to deliver a shared EMR.
This position is open to candidates from all Grampians Health locations, including Ballarat, Dimboola, Edenhope, Horsham, and Stawell.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical specifications and advice to support the translation of business requirements, ensuring the correct solution design and implementation.
- Gather ICT technical requirements for Identity Management & User provisioning, Learning Management System (LMS), ITSM integration and other EMR Infrastructure components to meet the EMR program objectives.
- Perform analysis and assessment of both functional and non-functional requirements, and document technical specifications accordingly.
- Offer precise technical guidance to support the specification and documentation of business requirements for both existing solutions and new initiatives.
- Conduct thorough analysis of existing systems, workflows, and processes to identify impacts and dependencies.
- Develop test scenarios & scripts to ensure functional and non-functional requirements are met during system testing.
- Coordinate and lead the planning, scoping, requirements gathering, and prioritisation activities for large complex initiatives.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Tertiary degree in information technology, computer science or computer systems engineering discipline, or relevant Industry experience
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Analyst, Solution Analyst or equivalent role
- Strong experience gathering, analysing, managing and documenting business requirements leading to successful design and implementation of ICT solutions.
- Experience creating user stories, customer/user journeys, requirement traceability matrices, business cases, test plans and other essential business analysis artefacts.
- Previous experience working in a large scale EMR implementation would be an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience and proven success in similar positions conducting analysis in multiple technical information systems projects.
- Working knowledge of ITSM, M365 Products, Integration engine, cloud offerings/solutions and emerging technologies.
