About the opportunity

The Manager Business Services is an exciting role which works within the Zone management team of the NSW SES. Included within the Finance, Assets and Business Services Directorate the role is responsible for providing management and support of staff, financial management including budget activities, relationship management with Council’s with regard to facilities management, working with other functional managers to ensure effective and efficient support services are in place for Zone members.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in related discipline, or equivalent extensive experience in a business management environment with astute financial management skills
  • Experience in being able to manage business support services including finance, procurement, facilities and fleet assets
  • Experience in partnering with other managers on budget preparation and analysis of financial performance
  • A passion for serving the community through emergency management
  • Willingness to be involved in travel and work out-of-hours as required

  • Maximum TRP $177,084.50 (salary range $125,693.00 - $138,510.00). Total remuneration package includes salary plus employer's 11.5% contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading plus 15% field allowance.

We are a volunteer-based organisation that provides emergency assistance to the people of NSW 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. It is the approximately 9,000 volunteers across the state that make this possible. NSW SES Volunteers come from all walks of life, bringing with them many different skills, interests and backgrounds. They are united by the purpose of supporting their communities in times of need.

While our major responsibilities are for flood and storm emergencies, NSW SES also provides the majority of general rescue effort in the rural parts of the state.
