Territory Generation is the largest producer of electricity in the Northern Territory with assets from Alice Springs to Darwin. We use gas, diesel and solar technologies to provide power across the Territory.

Your New Role

As the Tennant Creek Power Station Coordinator, you will lead a small team of mechanical and electrical/instrument maintenance personnel and coordinate the delivery of maintenance programs for the routine and major maintenance of an industrial gas turbine unit, gas and diesel reciprocating engines, auxiliary plant and equipment and support systems associated with modern power stations.

Your accountabilities include:

Ensure positive safety behaviours are embedded across the team and that safety and environmental KPIs are achieved in compliance with the Safety & Environmental Management plans.

Liaise with contract service providers and specialist support personnel to plan minor shutdowns and project work to maximise the availability of plant.

Investigate and analyse plant failures and collect statistical data on the maintenance of all plant.

Provide technical advice and information to project teams.

Review, develop and implement work and maintenance procedures, maintain an on-site spares inventory and plan resources and service support requirements to achieve continued plant availability and reliability.

Actively encourage and promote continuous improvement programs and corporate initiatives to promote individual, team and business development.

Deliver scheduled shutdowns on time.

Carry out duties in accordance with Territory Generation’s safety, environmental and quality policies, safety principles, corporate values and strategies.

Your skills & experience:

Demonstrated understanding of the OH&S issues and requirements involved in an industrial environment and a commitment to safety.

Good written and oral communication skills and an ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures and organisational backgrounds.

Proven interpersonal skills and leadership qualities.

An AQF Certificate III or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience, with previous supervision, planning or project experience

Have or be able to obtain an NT driver’s license and participate in an on-call roster.

Demonstrated ability to manage short- and long-term planning of scheduled maintenance through competent use of computerised systems, inventory management, PC based programs and office automation.

Desirable skills & experience:

Relevant AQF Cert III (Trade) mechanical qualifications or relevant AQF Cert III (Trade) electrical qualifications together with an A Grade Electrical License.

Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision and as part of a team to achieve outcomes.

Extensive knowledge/experience in power stations or industry on maintenance and operational requirements of Reciprocating Gas/Diesel and Dual Fuel Engines and auxiliary plant.

Post trade qualifications in personnel and/or resource management at Diploma level (or progress towards)

This is an ongoing, residential role and requires Australian Citizenship or other eligible visa type. Relocation assistance may be offered, and housing may be included subject to eligibility.
