The Opportunity

Join a dedicated and dynamic team at a prestigious private school in Melbourne as a Wellbeing and Engagement Coordinator. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on staff wellbeing, engagement, and development in a supportive environment. As part of the People and Talent team, you will coordinate training, manage Workcover claims, support workplace adjustments, and oversee contractor engagement. If you're someone who thrives in a process-driven, collaborative role and is passionate about HR and wellbeing, we would love to hear from you!

About the role

As the Wellbeing and Engagement Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that staff members thrive in their roles by supporting the School’s key wellbeing and engagement functions. You will assist in coordinating training and development programs, managing Workcover claims, supporting workplace adjustments, and overseeing contractor engagement processes.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Training and Development: Coordinating a comprehensive training calendar, assisting with compliance reporting, and managing the learning management system.

Workcover: Managing staff injury reports, coordinating claims, and assisting in return-to-work plans.

Administrative Support: Supporting the Wellbeing and Engagement Lead with compliance reporting, volunteer administration, and maintaining HR systems.

Contractor Engagement: Overseeing contractor compliance, supporting the recruitment and engagement process, and generating necessary documentation.

You’ll be involved in new system developments as the School moves through its digital transformation, ensuring staff experiences related to training and development are smooth and effective.

About you

You are a detail-oriented, proactive, and process-driven individual who thrives in a busy environment. You’re someone who loves HR and is eager to make a difference in supporting the wellbeing and engagement of staff. Your ability to think critically and provide high-level service will help you succeed in this dynamic role.

Your key skills and experience include:

Strong administrative skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality work on time.

Workcover or workplace adjustment experience is highly desirable. You’re comfortable managing processes and ensuring compliance while offering support to staff.

Familiarity with HRIS systems (Oracle) or similar, with the ability to maintain data, run reports, and assist in the implementation of new processes.

Excellent communication skills and a warm, approachable nature. You’ll be working closely with staff and contractors, managing sensitive issues like workplace injuries or adjustments.

A process-driven mindset and a passion for compliance and best practices.

What's in it for you?

A Collaborative and Supportive Environment: Join a team of committed professionals who value trust and collaboration. You’ll be an integral part of the People and Talent team, working closely with the Wellbeing and Engagement Lead and other key stakeholders.

Professional Development: While this role doesn’t require a traditional HR background, it offers an opportunity for growth, especially for those passionate about HR, wellbeing, and employee engagement.

Work-Life Balance: Flexible working hours, with the option to work from home one day a week, giving you the ability to balance your personal and professional life.

Competitive Salary

This is a perfect role for someone who is looking to contribute to a positive work culture and help make a real impact on staff wellbeing and engagement. If you’re ready to take the next step in your career and join a team that’s dedicated to supporting its staff, we’d love to hear from you!
