We are looking for a highly motivated Program Officer to support the growth and administration of our environmental programs. This is a full-time role based in Brisbane, with a mix of office-based and remote work arrangements.

Eco-Markets Australia is the country’s first independent administrator of environmental markets. Our programs facilitate investment in critical nature restoration and preservation across Australia. Our team is small but highly skilled, passionate about making a difference, and committed to fostering a supportive and flexible workplace.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Programs – Environmental Markets and Standards, you will play a crucial role in supporting the governance, administration, and integrity of the environmental markets we administer. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in evaluating project applications and ensuring compliance with Scheme requirements.

• Maintaining accurate records of projects, credit issuance, transactions, and stakeholder communications.

• Contributing to public consultation processes and stakeholder engagement.

• Contributing to the governance, assurance and compliance of all Program Standards that Eco-Markets Australia administers.

• Contributing to the development of new environmental markets, products, and services.

• Providing ongoing support to the Secretariat team in administering our environmental markets

• Supporting the administration and operation of Programs

• Undertaking ad-hoc tasks as requested by the Head of Programs and CEO

• Assisting the CEO and other team members to contribute towards achieving Eco-Markets Australia’s Strategic Plan and Operational outputs.

About You

We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment. You will bring:

• Strong organisational and time management skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

• Confidence managing multiple priorities and working independently.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).

• A genuine interest in environmental sustainability and nature markets.

• Brisbane-based location (for office-based days).

Desirable:

• Knowledge of nature markets or the environmental markets sector (regulatory or voluntary).

• Bachelor’s degree Tertiary qualifications in relevant field
