Your role
As a Communications Electronic Technician in the Air Force, you’ll use advanced communication and surveillance technology to monitor, maintain and repair aviation support systems. You’ll work on anything from radar and satellite systems to essential ground-air telecommunications, in support of Air Force operations and exercises.
Your duties may include:
- Performing system checks to ensure equipment is in full working order.
- Performing routine maintenance on various systems.
- Ensuring equipment faults are fixed fast to keep operations running smoothly.
- Setting up remote communications.
- Maintaining and repairing radar systems, Satellite Communication (SATCOM) systems, Surveillance and Control Equipment (SCE), Information Technology (IT) infrastructure, integrated radio systems, and ground-based navigational aids.

Salary
Upon completion of initial military and employment training, you will enjoy a salary package starting from $83,610.
Location
Following training, you may be posted to one of the major Air Force bases around Australia, such as RAAF Base Amberley, Williamtown, or Edinburgh.

For this role, you must be at least 17 at the time of enlistment, an Australian Citizen, and have passed Year 10 English, Maths and Science (with a Physics component), and one other subject.
