Everybody knows a JJ’s Truck when they see one . . . our iconic green and gold fleet head out rain or shine for collections in your area.

But did you know we have 23 divisions, 135 sites nationally, employ nearly 3000 people and operate a fleet of over 2300!

We do more than collect the bin from your street, we also convert waste into clean energy, divert food waste from landfill and convert to compost, manufacture customised waste management equipment, asbestos removal, refine and recycle oil, manage and maintain our fleet inhouse and have our own bespoke technology systems.

Our teams include Drivers/Operators, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Customer Service, Operations, Finance, IT/Digital, Environment, Engineering, Industrial Chemists, Safety, Administration and much more . . .

ABOUT THIS ROLE

As a JJ’s Trades Assistant / HR Truck Driver, you will drive a variety of vehicles to/from our Derrimut depot; plus support the Workshop whilst not driving a truck.

You will enjoy Monday to Friday hours, 1pm start time – as well as great pay rates (afternoon shift allowance/penalty rates).

If you’ve got your HR licence, we can teach you the rest!

KEY RESPONSIBILITITES

Drive a variety of trucks

Move trucks to and from service centres and between depots

Road test vehicles; have good mechanical aptitude

Confirm repairs have been completed / checklist confirmation

Pre-start vehicle inspections

Assist mechanics in the workshop with service tasks

General workshop support including cleaning, stores and paperwork

ABOUT YOU

Current HR Licence

Significant experience driving heavy vehicles is essential.

Well-developed people and relationship skills

Can-do attitude and enjoy variety in your work

Confident mechanical skills – conduct test drives to identify issues with brakes, steering and suspension

Commit to JJ’s Waste values and be willing to embrace workplace diversity

Be dedicated to achieving high standards of safety compliance

Be subject to a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing

Able to provide your last 5 years’ traffic history at interview stage
