About the Role

In this role you will be responsible for solving technical problems that arise during the work process to ensure the uninterrupted operation of computer systems and networks. You will work alongside internal business teams in an agile environment to design and implement release, deployment, and configuration activities for delivered applications. You will also be involved in maintaining networks, servers and PCs, installing and configuring software, and ensuring data security and defenses against external threats. This role is critical to the smooth operation of our information infrastructure, and you will act as a key link between the technical requirements and business needs of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and execute the installation, configuration, upgrades and maintenance of computer operating systems such as Ubuntu, Amazon Linux, MacOS ensuring proper integration with other systems and datasets;

Develop, test and document clean and effective infrastructure code in a variety of tools.

Provide enhancements for various existing projects.

Diagnose and resolve system related issues including crashes, data inconsistencies, connectivity problems and configuration issues;

Ensure network connectivity and reliability via the proactive monitoring of systems up-time and performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing performance optimisation strategies to maintain optimal system responsiveness;

Maintain security controls, monitor and detect threats to ensure the safety and security of sensitive information;

Provide technical support, solutions and recommendations to our clients and provide after-hours/on call support as needed.

Keep up-to-date documentation for systems, networks and software, and assist in technical documentation preparation.

Keep up to date with emerging, relevant technologies and trends to ensure network infrastructure operates at peak performance.

Qualifications & Experience

Technical capabilities - You understand linux, the web ecosystem and how to deliver stable and robust solutions to support our customers and users.

Experience with IaC solutions, Terraform, Ansible and the Hashicorp stack preferred

Experience with Git - branching, pull requests, rebasing. Experience with Gitlab and associated tools an advantage

Security conscious – understanding of tokens and request authorisation, Identity, rate limiting, attack surface.

Experience with AWS, specifically scaled and automanaged solutions with an understanding of Kubernetes an advantage

Experience with delivering solutions using Cloudflare a plus
