I’m John… I normally just tell people I work at Optus, but I‘m actually the owner of the local Optus stores and I’ve re-written this a few times find the best balance of “professional” for a role that is driven by connection and values. (Chat GPT just can’t seem to tick the box I’m looking for here.) The situation is we are a locally owned group of 4 stores in direct partnership with Optus and we are looking for a fellow “bright-futured” individual to work alongside.

We have Tech Heads, Mountain Bikers, Students, Road Bikers, Festival Aficionados, Golfers, Skiers / Boarders, Runners, DJs, Video Game heroes, Netflix Bingers. We have Family people, Single people, Happy people and almost every other variety of people you can imagine.

What they all have in common, is a desire to understand our customers and serve them far beyond their expectations, with long lasting connections and impactful experiences.

Our Hiring Process:

You find or get sent this job ad.

My two cents:

We are on the lookout for an experienced people leader to support performance of the team using an established skillset. So come in and check it out. If you have the leadership skills and experience, we can absolutely teach you Optus.

Rewarding work is often challenging, but sometimes the grass is actually greener, and we really like watering it here.

Don't dress up! Maybe send us a note “Hi, my name is-“ email with your resume and we can catch up for a chat. You know what, it took me too long to write this ad to not ask for something unique in your cover letter, show me you.

Worst-case scenario :

You find out all the things we say are true (which you will) and you are a perfect fit and then you don't take our offer. Don't be scared of change. Don't worry about your current employer, sometimes you have to move on and we encourage it too. Even though this is a leadership position, we still have amazing pathways to onward and upward.
