About the role
As the Service Team Lead at VIKING Australia, you will play a pivotal role in the maintenance and servicing of our comprehensive range of liferafts and other critical safety equipment. In this full-time position based in Bibra Lake, Western Australia, you will be responsible for supervising and supporting a team of technicians to ensure our customers' safety and compliance requirements are consistently met.
What you'll be doing
Efficiently service, repair and maintain liferafts, lifejackets and other vital safety equipment in line with VIKING manuals, regulations and instructions
Supervise and guide a team of technicians, ensuring work is done in accordance with QHSE and Company standards
Set and achieve day-to-day objectives for the team and deliver results consistently to a high standard
Foster a positive team culture and champion a safety-first mindset
Ensure the Liferaft room operates efficiently, monitoring tools/equipment calibration and stock levels
Work closely with the Service Planner(s), and other departments where necessary, to support the business operations.
Report non-conformities or issues as set out in the VIKING safety management system and facilitate immediate corrective actions.
Maintain accurate record keeping and document storage.
What we're looking for
Current and valid rights to work in Australia
Demonstrated experience in a team leader or supervisory role, ideally in the marine safety industry
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong team management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and support a high-performing team
Strong time management and organisational skills
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and compliance
Ability to read and understand technical manuals and regulatory standards
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and experience with cloud-based systems
Awareness of relevant maritime regulations, such as SOLAS, IMO, NSCV, highly desirable.
