Our client, a leading critical mineral refining organization, is seeking an Instrument Technician to join their team in Julia Creek.

As an Instrument Technician, you will be responsible for safely carrying out instrumentation tasks to support the construction and operation of the mine and processing plant. Your role will be essential in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and calibration of fixed plant instrumentation and electrical assets.
  • Perform corrective maintenance to address faults and issues in a timely manner.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues in control systems, collaborating with maintenance and engineering teams.
  • Install new instrumentation and control devices as part of the research and development plant.
  • Ensure accuracy and reliability of instruments through calibration and functional testing.
  • Follow safety protocols, report hazards, and comply with site safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and equipment configurations.
  • Support the implementation of instrumentation upgrades and replacements.
  • Manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability of critical components.
  • Respond to emergency instrumentation failures to minimize downtime and ensure safety.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certificate III in Electrical Technology (QLD Electrical Licence Essential).
  • Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control or Certificate IV in Electrical – Instrumentation.
  • Proven experience in installation, fault-finding, and repair of instrumentation and control systems.
  • Understanding of industry standards and specifications.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
