Firbank Grammar is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated VCD and Art Teacher to work in our Senior School in a fixed-term, part-time position. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about the education and wellbeing of students and applying the best practice for our Senior School students to achieve success.

The key role of this job is to provide engaging and thoughtful lessons, following planned activities in accordance with the faculty syllabi and school priorities. You will play a pivotal role in fostering a love for art and design by creating engaging and innovative lessons that inspire students to excel.

This is a part-time (0.68 FTE) fixed-term role at our Brighton Senior School Campus, for the duration of Term 3, 2025 (July 21st - September 19th). This position is available due to a staff member on Long Service Leave.

Key responsibilities

• VCE Units 1 & 2: Visual Communication Design
• Year 9 Elective: Art: Fashion Textiles & Marketing
• Year 9 Elective: Visual Communication Design
• Year 8 x 2: Visual Arts
• Mentor (Homeroom Teacher)

• Demonstrate passion for teaching VCD and Art
• Teach in a way that enables all students to succeed
• Act as a role model for students in terms of punctuality, dress and conduct
• Observe safe work practices, maintain a safe and supportive environment
• Successfully perform the allotted load for this position, made up of the following subjects:

• Ability to work collaboratively, alongside a skilled and friendly Art Department consisting of Teachers and Technicians/Curators.
• Understands obligations in relation to Health and Safety

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience teaching VCE VCD would be advantageous, particularly the current Study Designs
• Current VIT registration
• Appropriate teaching qualification
• First Aid and CPR Certificates (or willingness to obtain)
