About the Centre:

Barry Beckett Children’s Centre (BBCC) is a community not-for-profit early childhood education and care service located on the lands of the Wurundjeri people, near Merri Creek in Coburg.

The Centre is named after Councillor Barry Beckett, who championed rights for refugees and local families, creating an important social service in the Coburg area. We wish to acknowledge and reflect the significance of these aspects of our history and instil a shared understanding with the children who play here and the educators who work here.

We are an inclusive service, with a deep commitment to social justice, inclusion, sustainability, and reconciliation. We strive for excellence in teaching and care, supporting ongoing learning and continuous improvement for our staff.

We are a 93 place centre with five learning spaces, and six programs – four of those are kinder programs, with a total of five teaching staff.

This is a Term 2 contract (start date: 22nd April end date: 2nd July). There is potential opportunity to make this an ongoing position.

Work Days of the Role 3 Days Per Week

Hours of Work of the Role 8.15am-4.15pm Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday.

Requirements and information:

VIT Registered Early Childhood Teacher

3/4 year-old sessional kindergarten program

19 to 22 children per day

Above ratio Diploma trained educators in your team

You will collaborate with children and educators to create a wonderful, thoughtful inclusive program that reflects the BBCC values and go beyond the National and State frameworks.

There are opportunities for on-going Professional Development.

We have two annual professional development days and monthly staff and team meetings
