About the role

Medical receptionist is a key role of the business, managing the needs of both the patients and the practitioners. This is a fast-paced role at the front desk, that would suit an individual who enjoys a diverse role in a busy medical practice able to manage multiple tasks with confidence. The successful candidate must display a high amount of initiative, motivation and autonomy.

Responsibilities include:

Providing friendly and professional customer service to all patients and practitioner both in person and over the phone.

Attending to patient enquiries, booking patient appointments for multiple health care providers efficiently.

General administration duties - mail, filing, faxing, emailing and scanning documents.

Processing medical and allied health payments.

Medicare, Private billings, DVA and Work cover billings.

The successful candidate will require:

Experience within the health industry or medical practice desired.

Proficient in all Microsoft programs.

Desired experience using Best Practice and Nookal software.

Strong interpersonal skills/customer service.

30 hours per week.

Flexibility to be available for 4 hour shift Saturday mornings

Ability to work well under pressure.

Ability to manage multiple demands/concurrent work tasks.

Honesty and accuracy with the ability to work with confidential information.

The ability to work well both autonomously and within a team environment.
