Your day as an Advisor

As an Advisor, you will play a crucial role in delivering the NSW Indigenous Expenditure Report by collecting and analysing First Nations expenditure data. Your responsibilities will include collecting data, conducting analyses, and offering advice on economic and financial methodologies. You will effectively communicate data findings and play a role in influencing policy to improve outcomes for First Nations people and communities. The role requires strong collaborative relationships across the NSW Government and with First Nations people, organisations, and peak bodies, necessitating a high degree of First Nations cultural capability.

In this role, you will provide insightful and persuasive policy, financial, and economic advice based on accurate data. You will demonstrate skills in complex analysis and problem-solving, reconciling datasets, drawing conclusions, and making clear recommendations to decision-makers.

Your role involves building culturally sensitive relationships with First Nations communities, supporting First Nations-related outcomes through effective communication and collaboration, representing Treasury in internal and external forums, and contributing to First Nations policy proposals and Treasury's engagement in Closing the Gap.

Achieve success as Advisor

In this integral role there are a few things we would like for you to have to best support yourself and add value to the people of NSW.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

· High degree of First Nations cultural competency.

· Demonstrated experience in accurate and complex data analysis and problem solving, including financial and economic data.

· Must be an adept user of Microsoft Excel and knowledge of other statistical software is also highly desirable.

· Ability to communicate analysis and findings clearly and effectively, including ability to present information visually.

· Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders.

Eligibility
