The Role

This role is an 18 month fixed term parental cover. The Senior Fund Accountant is responsible for a range of accounting activities for unlisted unit trusts and liaises with the wider fund accounting team and our internal stakeholders. The position incorporates the following:

Undertaking monthly reconciliations of various unlisted unit trusts including equity, income and alternative assets to ensure general ledger integrity

Maintain fixed asset registers – additions, disposals, depreciations and GL reconciliation

Prepare quarterly Business Activity Statements

Prepare distribution calculations and yearly income tax returns

Assist in the preparation of annual budget and reforecasting including analysis of variance

Preparation of annual statutory accounts and liaising with auditors

Calculate unit pricing

Review of annual unitholder tax statements

Undertake feasibility analysis for acquisitions/disposals/terminations for internal use

Preparing of bank covenants

Collaborate with cross functional teams to implement process improvement

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be qualified with a Finance/Commerce degree and ideally CA/CPA certified with a minimum of 3-5 years solid funds accounting experience within a similar environment. In addition, strong analytical skills, knowledge of accounting standards and taxation affecting the managed funds industry is highly advantageous.
