· Role: Restructuring & Turnaround Consultant
· Location: Sydney CBD
· Position: Full-time/ Permanent
· Annual Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 + super (based on experience)
· No WFH
As “Restructuring & Turnaround Consultant” with Corson Fiske your main tasks include:
Identify causes of corporate distress, mismanagement practices, or unsustainable business models, and set the stage for restructuring and recovery plans.
Prepare a report on the corporate A&L position, identify risks, and develop appropriate advice.
Develop strategies to protect companies in the event of insolvency through appropriate forms of appointment. (voluntary administration, SBR, liquidation, and commercial restructuring.)
Plan the assignment of assets and IP in a commercial restructure.
Identify engagement risks and determine the appropriate strategy in conjunction with the director’s personal liability.
Investigate financial reports (balance sheet and P&L) to revise measures to reduce insolvency risks and ensure the viability of the business.
Review financial records to identify voidable transactions and preferences prior to an engagement and prepare appropriate risk profile.
Implement turnaround solutions, maximize value, and reduce operational inefficiencies (cost-cutting, restructuring operations, and finding new revenue streams to stabilize the company).
Negotiate with secured creditors on behalf of the client where necessary to outline the restructuring plan, ensuring that creditors' interests are maintained.
Provide advice to directors in relation to lockdown DPNs, garnishees and PGs.
Review novation agreements (IP, assets, lease, franchise, etc.) to ensure client’s interests are protected in a restructure.
Meet and engage with clients/referrers to discuss advice on corporate distress.
The candidate must demonstrate:
A minimum of one year of full-time insolvency experience with a boutique consulting firm, or three years of full-time experience as a business consultant with transferable experience at a senior level.
Comprehensive expertise in corporate insolvency engagements, including VAs, SBRs, liquidations, and restructures.
In-depth knowledge of personal insolvency appointments, including Part IXs, Part X, and bankruptcy.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively discuss complex strategies with stakeholders (CFOs, accountants, directors and shareholders) at the corporate level.
Proven ability to manage work-flow and handle multiple tasks autonomously.
