About the role

We’re looking for several positions of Cook (Indian Cuisine) for our restaurant in various locations - Footscary, Derrimut, Point Cook, Hawthorn, Cranbourne VIC. We need someone who has some prior experience in preparing Indian Delicacies. Some of the day-to-day responsibilities of the staff member would be:

Duties of Cook

Cooks prepare, season and cook food in the kitchen.

Preparing and cooking food, seasoning and portioning dishes as per the Menu of the Aangan restaurant.

Preparing ingredients as per the Chef instructions and requirement on a daily basis

examining food to ensure quality

seasoning food during cooking

portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes

storing food in temperature controlled facilities to ensure ingredients are stored appropriately

preparing food to meet special dietary requirements as per customer request

will be required to assist the chef with menus and estimate food requirements

will be required to train any junior staff and monitor the kitchen hand as required

Required Skills

The candidate holds a relevant qualification

1 years’ work experience in a busy restaurant

Knowledge of ingredients and recipes

Ability to perform duties without supervision

Be able to work in busy environment and ability to develop new menus.
