About the role:
Temporary, part-time appointment for Term 2, and possibly part of Term 3, 2025
3 hours per day (15 hours per week)
We seek an applicant who is self-motivated, has good communication skills, and can work unsupervised as well as part of a team. Undertake maintenance and repair work to the school building and grounds to ensure it is a safe environment for the school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure building systems and machines run smoothly e.g. air conditioning, pumps
Undertake repair/maintenance work as required to school buildings e.g. replacing locks, windows & light bulbs, patching holes, woodwork repairs
Perform routine maintenance of equipment
Handle, store & distribute goods/materials
Move equipment/furniture, as required
Upkeep school grounds e.g. mowing, pruning, weeding, planting, disposing of litter
Assist with school improvements e.g. fencing, paving, & gardening projects
Complete daily grounds maintenance reports
Drive school vehicles, as required (optional).
About the School:
Aspect Treetop School provides placement for approximately 76 students on the autism spectrum from ages 5 to 16 years. We are proud to be the only autism-specific education program for students from Reception to Year 10 in Adelaide. We understand the uniqueness of every child, value their individual strengths, interests, and aspirations, and we celebrate the ‘different brilliant’ of every child.
Qualifications
What we are looking for:
Experience in general maintenance of grounds/buildings
Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general trade maintenance
Understanding of machinery/equipment operation relating to building maintenance
Ability to work unsupervised, as well as part of a team
Excellent communication skills
Trade background is desirable
Current driver’s licence and use of own vehicle
Current Working with Children Check for paid employment
Reporting to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (RRHAN-EC) certificate
You may be required to provide an International Police Check clearance.
