About the role
- Provide quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services to patients within inpatient mental health settings, collaborating with Level 3 Occupational Therapists to co-design recovery programs tailored to patient and environmental needs.
- Work closely with the mental health inpatient multidisciplinary team (MDT) to address functional and therapeutic needs of patients, applying a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach in all interventions.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, treatment, psychological interventions, and discharge planning for patients with complex and challenging mental health needs.
- Participate in after-hours therapeutic programs aimed at reducing restrictive practices, while actively promoting patient engagement in group settings and decision-making processes.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to work effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams, contributing to group decisions and fostering a collaborative care environment.
