At Chief Electricians, we’re an established and growing solar business, and we’re looking for someone just like you to take on the role of Off Tools Solar Supervisor. What’s the role about?

As the Off Tools Solar Manager, you’ll still be very much in the heart of the action — just not on the tools. This is a hands-on, behind-the-scenes role where you’ll oversee operations, manage scheduling, and ensure the smooth running of our solar projects. You’ll use your deep industry knowledge to help us deliver top-quality service and manage the technical side of things while also picking up new skills in operations and team management.

What will you be doing?

· Scheduling & Operations: Manage the day-to-day scheduling of jobs and projects, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

· Team Leadership: Oversee and support the solar installation team, ensuring they have what they need to perform at their best.

· Project Oversight: Use your technical knowledge to support the successful completion of projects, ensuring quality standards are met.

· Reporting: Work with the leadership team to track and report on progress, ensuring we stay on track and meet our financial targets.

· Stock Management: Oversee inventory, ensuring that materials are available when needed.

Who are we looking for?

· Experience: You’ve been on the tools for 10-15 years and know the solar industry inside and out. You understand the technicalities of solar installations, system configurations, and troubleshooting.

· Desire to Learn: While you’re not expected to be a computer expert, you’ll need to be comfortable using basic office tools like email, spreadsheets, and project management software. A willingness to learn these skills quickly is a must!

· Leadership Potential: You have the natural ability to lead by example, support your team, and step into a supervisory role without the stress of being on-site all day.

· Problem-Solver: You’re used to solving on-the-job challenges and can think on your feet when faced with operational hurdles.
