About Karralyka Centre
The Karralyka Centre is the premier theatre and function centre in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.
Karralyka Theatre is a modern, fully equipped venue suitable for all performance styles, with tiered seating for 410, so that every view is a great view (for kids too), state-of-the–art lighting and audio systems and three large dressing rooms and orchestra pit.
Karralyka houses three adjoining function spaces that can be used separately, or in combination, to cater for groups of 20 to 500 people.
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic hospitality professional to become our Function Supervisor.
The Functions Supervisor reports directly to the Front of House Team Leader and works collaboratively with the Venue Operations Manager. They are responsible for overseeing the front-of-house operations of the centre and assist the Front of House Team Leader with event coordination and supervision of staff.
As a Functions Supervisor, you will oversee Food and Beverage operations within the Functions department to ensure quality service by performing the following tasks to the highest standards.
You will oversee theatre operations to ensure safe and enjoyable experience for all Functions and Theatre patrons and you will lead the FOH team.
You will:
- Supervise, support and lead the front of house team
- Supervise and control service to consistently meet high standards as defined by Karralyka Standards
- Effectively manage the interactions between the front and back of house to ensure a professional experience is delivered for all functions
- Handle all client enquiries in an appropriate and professional manner
You will need:
- Previous experience in a Food and Beverage Team Leader or Supervisory role advantageous
- Ability to demonstrate delegation skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to build relationships and develop rapport
- Sound problem solving and complaint handling skills
- Flexibility to respond quickly and positively to a range of work situations
- A passion for developing others to be part of a winning team
- Ability to work a 7 day rotating roster
- A valid RSA certificate
- A valid Victorian ‘Working with Children’s check’
