Vawdrey Australia is currently offering a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and reliable Senior Purchasing officer to join our Purchasing Department.

This role will be responsible to

• Monitor / schedule stock levels to identify purchasing requirements.
• Track orders and ensure timely deliveries.
• Update system with order details (dates, vendors, quantities)
• Evaluate offers from vendors negotiate better prices (Steel)
• Follow up with suppliers, as need to confirm or change orders.
• Supervise and delegate work to works in department as required e.g. job packages, steel orders, stock checks and stock control.
• Educate and train new employees and current employees in the department up to your expectations.
• Prepare purchase orders as required.

To succeed in this role you will have

• Minimum 3 years of Purchasing experience
• Experience in the heavy vehicle manufacturing industry is desirable
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to train and communicate with others.
• Basic MS office computer skills.
• Ability to work in a team or individually when required.
• Outstanding problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail.
