About Sport4All
The Sport4All (S4A) program helps sporting clubs and schools to be more accessible and inclusive for people with disability. The program is designed and delivered by Get Skilled Access (GSA). This position assists Australian sporting clubs and schools to be more accessible and inclusive to enable people with disability to have choice and control over where and how they would like to participate in sport.
The Inclusion Coach is employed by Get Skilled Access and works in close collaboration with Disability Sports Northern Territory as part of a targeted focus on Peak Sporting Body priority sports and their facilities. The position will be supported by Disability Sports Northern Territory as required to undertake reporting requirements for both Disability Sports Northern Territory and Get Skilled Access.
About Disability Sports Northern Territory
DSNT is a Business Unit of Disability Sports Australia funded by the Northern Territory Government with the goal of providing adaptive sport opportunities for Territorian’s with disability through:
Programs - Delivering inclusive and adaptable sport and recreational programs and events across the Territory.
Capacity Building - Building the capacity of various sport and active recreation providers to deliver accessible programs and services for people with disabilities.
Collaborating - Collaboration with a range of stakeholders to support service delivery expansion in remote and regional communities.
About you
The Inclusion Coach will be a person with a disability and/or lived connection to disability who has been involved in sport as a player, volunteer, or administrator, and use their real-life disability experiences and the experiences of their network to build relationships with the clubs and schools which will help them understand the purpose of Sport4All and the benefits and opportunities the program can bring.
As an Inclusion Coach, you will work within the Darwin and surrounding regions to connect local sporting clubs and schools with the Sport4All website and resources and support them complete the Sport4All training program. You will also conduct facility assessments of the tiered priority sports as listed with Disability Sports Northern Territory, which will be reported back the Northern Territory Government.
You will be trained in the Sport4All program and facility assessment processes at the beginning of the role, with further training and development offered throughout the employment period.
We are led by the lived experience in all that we do at GSA, and accordingly encourage people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and all other intersections with the disability community to apply.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Demonstrated experience in community sport as a player, volunteer, or administrator
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage across a range of audiences using a range of media, to assist in building effective working relationships and networks relevant to the role
Ability to connect with grassroots sporting and active recreation clubs, associations, state and national sporting bodies
Ability to connect with teachers, school leadership, and other school staff
Ability to plan your trips and travel around the local community, including to different schools and sporting clubs, centres, grounds or programs etc
Strong time management, work prioritisation and organisation skills with demonstrated ability to work both independently and interdependently to ensure work tasks are delivered on time and to a high standard
Proficiency in relevant computer software, applications, internal systems, databases and mobile devices
