We’re looking for a Senior Graphic Designer with bold ideas and cutting-edge design skills to enhance how the NSW Government communicates with the public. This role offers the opportunity to push creative boundaries—developing animations, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), 3D renders, and flythroughs—to bring complex ideas to life.

Join our Communications and Marketing Division and help shape the public voice of NSW.

The role

As part of the Communications and Marketing Division, you’ll lead high-impact visual storytelling that engages communities and enhances understanding of key government initiatives. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver compelling, innovative designs that align with strategic priorities and government brand standards.

What you’ll do:

• Design and produce high-quality visual assets across digital, social media, print, and internal channels.
• Lead the development of animations, AR/VR experiences, 3D renders, and flythroughs to create immersive and engaging content.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to shape design briefs and present creative concepts.
• Ensure all creative assets meet NSW Government branding, accessibility, and copyright standards.
• Work closely with Media and Communications, Marketing and Content, and Internal Communications teams to align creative work with broader strategies.
• Mentor a small team and contribute to a culture of creativity and innovation.

What you will bring to the role

You’re a creative thinker with a strong design portfolio and a passion for innovation. You’ll thrive in this role if you:

• Have extensive experience as a Senior Graphic Designer, with expertise in digital, print, and motion design.
• Are proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and other relevant design tools.
• Have experience in AR, VR, 3D rendering, and motion graphics (or a willingness to expand your skills in these areas).
• Possess strong communication skills and can confidently collaborate with stakeholders.
• Are highly organised and can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Understand branding, accessibility, and design principles for government and corporate settings.

Key Knowledge and Experience

• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent skills and/or relevant industry experience.
• Ability to be on call as required outside of normal working hours.
