The Role
Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Superintendent, the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor leads the mechanical maintenance team to safely execute planned and reactive works required to achieve the desired plant availability level. This role is assigned responsibility for planned and / or unplanned maintenance work execution and work quality in normal operations and within shutdown periods.
The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor oversees a team with a broad skill set, including mechanical tradespersons, conveyor technicians, painters / grit blasters, scaffolders, riggers, crane drivers and additional resources as required.
Your duties will include but not be limited to:
- Actively manage the health and safety of the team, timely management of incidents and completion of actions derived from incident investigations within the agreed due date.
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance resources to complete planned and reactive maintenance work at the required quality in compliance with the relevant standards and procedures.
- Oversee work request scoping, work order close out, history collection, materials management, completion of inspection test plans and other maintenance work processes and quality processes related to maintenance work management.
- Manage workshops, tooling, vehicles and other assets within the Mechanical Maintenance Department.
- Develop and manage the performance of the maintenance crew members and contractors
- Analyse and report on maintenance key performance indicators
What you’ll bring
You'll bring at least 5 years experience post trade, with 2 years supervisory experience and have a strong understanding of maintenance and quality processes. Your expertise in fault finding, reactive work prioritisation, risk management, safety investigations, will set you up for success in this role.
You will also:
- Be committed to positively contributing to our safe, inclusive and high-performance culture
- Have a certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical
- Have certifications as a Crane Driver, Rigger/ Scaffolder (desirable)
- B competent in the use of SAP or similar Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
- Have a high level of computer literacy – Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
