Sky Accountants are looking for an experienced Accountant for an immediate start.

This position is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week based in the Ballarat, VIC office.

The General Accountant will be responsible for the following main duties:

Prepare financial statements and reports in compliance with regulatory and accounting standards

Review and maintain general ledger accounts including reconciliations, workpapers, and month-end processes

Evaluate income, expenditures, and EBITDA to support strategic decision-making

Complete monthly and year-end KPI’s of all offices for presentation to the board of directors

Prepare cash flow reports

Assist client managers with budget development, forecast and variance analysis

Prepare business activity statements, and annual tax returns

Oversee internal financial controls and policies to ensure compliance and efficiency

Assist the executive team in gathering data, and conducting financial analysis on business acquisitions, and mergers

For this position, it is expected that you would possess the following qualifications/work experience:

A bachelor’s degree in Accountancy

Minimum of 4 years of Australian accounting experience, within a public practice environment.

Proficiency in accounting software Xero.

Strong knowledge of Australian accounting principles and practices.

Excellent organisational and time management skills.

Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
