Are you passionate about wildlife rehabilitation and love working with people? Join Darling Range Wildlife Shelter (DRWS) and play a crucial role in building the skills, confidence, and capacity of our dedicated volunteers.

At DRWS, we provide life-saving care to injured and orphaned wildlife, ensuring their recovery and successful release back into the wild. As the Wildlife Rehabilitation Development Officer, you’ll work closely with our amazing volunteer workforce, providing hands-on training, structured learning opportunities, and mentorship to help them develop their expertise in wildlife care.

What You’ll Do

Train and mentor volunteers to build confidence in wildlife rescue, treatment, and rehabilitation
Develop structured training programs to ensure best-practice care standards
Provide hands-on support and expert guidance for volunteers across shifts
Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture
Work closely with veterinary partners and wildlife organisations

What We’re Looking For

Experience in wildlife rehabilitation, animal care, or veterinary nursing
Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for mentoring and training others
Ability to develop structured training programs
A proactive, solutions-focused approach to shelter operations
Commitment to ethical wildlife care and conservation
