About the role:
Reporting to and working with, the Team Leader Compliance and Enforcement, you will proactively educate and support our customers, whilst managing compliance investigations and prosecutions for LMW for breaches within the Water Act 1989 as well as assisting in the day-to-day management of the vehicles and plant.
Working as a member of the Business Services Division, your ability to proactively engage with internal and external stakeholders and develop positive relationships that support LMW to achieve strategic initiatives will be an advantage. Dealing with a diverse range of external stakeholders from Government department representatives to customers as well as various internal departments, you will have excellent skills in managing difficult conversations on a daily basis.
Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Undertaking water education, compliance and enforcement activities
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to support the team.
Facilitate enforcement of applicable water use policies.
Support the development, implementation and evaluation of Compliance and Fleet planning.
Contribute to statutory reporting.
Always represent LMW in a professional manner.
About you:
Your excellent organisational skills will enable you to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment. In addition, to be successful in this role, you will have the following:
Certificate IV in Government Investigations or willingness to obtain
A customer service focus whilst understanding the need for strict compliance.
An understanding of State Government legislation.
Analytical and problem-solving skills
A high level of written and oral communication skill.
Intermediate computer skills
Current drivers’ licence.
Must have the right to work in Australia.

About Lower Murray Water
Lower Murray Urban and Rural Water Authority was created under the provisions of the Water Act 1989 via Order in Council effective 1st of July 2004. It assumed the whole of the property, rights, liabilities, obligations, powers and functions under the Water Act 1989 of the Lower Murray Region Water Authority and Sunraysia Rural Water Authority. LMW reports to the Minister for Water, Environment & Climate Change Ms Lisa Neville.
The Water (Governance Act) 2006 varied the form and title of Lower Murray Water and established new governance arrangements effective from 1st July 2007. Lower Murray Urban and Rural Water Authority is now Lower Murray Urban and Rural Water Corporation.
On 19th August 2008 a Ministerial Determination under Section 87 of the Water Act 1989, appointed Lower Murray Urban and Rural Water Corporation to take over the whole of the functions, powers and duties of First Mildura Irrigation Trust under the Act, including its functions in respect of all of its districts under the Act.
