It is also the largest non-government provider of rehabilitation services in Western Australia, with private and publicly funded services supported by a comprehensive multidisciplinary team
Your role at St John of God Mount Lawley Hospital
We are currently seeking a Sterilisation Technician to maintain the integrity, care and handling of all surgical instruments, sterile stock, linen, supplies and equipment in line with competencies.
The role is offered on a permanent part-time basis.
The Position Sterilisation Technician
- Maintains the integrity, care and handling of all surgical instruments, sterile stock, linen, supplies and equipment in line with competencies whilst maintaining a safe clean environment using only authorised cleaning products and adhering to the principles of Infection Control.
- Demonstrates knowledge of AS/NZS 4187 document.
- Initiates and maintains effective communication lines and teamwork/collaboration within the Operating Suite, CSD and the Hospital generally.
- Ensures efficient use and maintenance of equipment and material resources in department and related areas.
- Tests and cleans all sterilisers on a daily and weekly basis as per policy statement.
- Acts as a technical resource for CSSD staff and other departments, providing appropriate support and advice ensuring safe standards are maintained.
To succeed, you will hold a Certificate in Sterilisation at AQF3 or equivalent, have well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills and have demonstrated ability to effectively manage your time and prioritise workloads.
You will be able to coordinate, liaise and work collaboratively with colleagues and other multidisciplinary team members, and have the ability to teach within CSSD and related areas.

- Salary: $69,959 to $74,124 per annum, (pro rata) plus 11.5% superannuation
