The Position:

The Corporate Support Officer is a member of the Corporate Support Team within the Office of the Governor, with responsibility for providing finance, administrative and other corporate support services for the Office of the Governor.

Primary Duties:

  • Finance data entry and reconciliations including – but not limited to - accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit card processing, end of year journals and reconciliations.
  • Maintenance of schedules including assets, contracts, FBT expenditure.
  • Maintenance of physical records, and electronic records using SharePoint and Content Manager.
  • Other administration duties including ordering office supplies, postage, petty cash and minute-taking.
  • Assist with worker’s compensation administration, payroll queries and other payroll related functions.
  • Fulfil online shop orders.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a small Corporate Support team to ensure the delivery of high-quality corporate services – which may include providing support and covering leave across all areas of Corporate Support.
  • Undertake other duties as required within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this level.

Level of Responsibility

Operates with direction from the Chief Finance Officer to ensure the provision of high-level corporate support to the Office of the Governor.

In consultation with the Chief Finance Officer, set work priorities and exercise initiative and judgement to effectively achieve tasks within allocated resources and agreed time limits.

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience in financial transaction processing, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general journal processing, with a strong working knowledge of the Goods and Services Tax.
  • High proficiency in the use of computer applications and software systems including Microsoft Office applications, finance systems (CiAnywhere is an advantage) and electronic records management.
  • A high level of written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills to enable effective teamwork with colleagues and respectful interactions with stakeholders.
  • Well-developed time management skills coupled with an ability to manage simultaneous tasks in a complex challenging environment with competing demands and multiple deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both individually and in a small team environment to meet business critical requirements and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in a changing work environment, and a willingness to assist with change.

Highly Desirable:

  • Certificate IV in Administration or Business, coupled with experience in finance and administration roles, or extensive relevant experience gained over several years in a similar role.
  • Have - or have the ability to gain - a Working with Vulnerable People qualification.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in a government environment.
