About Nothern Health:
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.
About Mental Health Division:
Northern Health is the third largest mental health service in Victoria Northern. Within the Mental Health Division, we pride ourselves on providing high quality mental health services to people living in the northern regions of Melbourne, and work in a collaborative way with consumers and carers based on recovery principles. We aim to provide strong clinical leadership to support all staff in the provision of professional treatment and care by our integrated community teams, inpatient, and residential services.
The Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Clinician Occupational Therapist (OT3) to join the team at the 25 bed Broadmeadows Adult Inpatient Psychiatric Unit, Northern Health. Working alongside Medical, Nursing, Allied health and Lived experience colleagues.
This role requires the Occupational therapist to:
- Provide specialist occupational therapy assessments, interventions and groups for people aged 16- 6
- Design, implement and evaluate the therapeutic group program which is a core intervention at BIPU
- Take an active role in the leadership and implementation ofsensory modulation and sensory informed approaches inreducing restrictive interventions
- Develop and maintain activity hubs within BIPU, to support a wide range of safe and meaningful activities being available for consumers while in inpatient care
- Support and supervise BIPU OT team made up of an OT1 and OT2
- Work closely with the wider BIPU team, sharing your clinical expertise and support quality initiatives and research
This position is ongoing part time 48 hours per fortnight, however we also have additional Senior EFT at our Epping, Mental Health Inpatient Unit if you are interested in a full-time role.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Expertise in developing and delivering interventions with consumers who have experienced serious mental illness and have complex mental health needs
- Interest and expertise in sensory modulation and group work
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong clinical leadership skills and ability to contribute effectively to a multidisciplinary team
- Genuine commitment to embedding recovery principles and trauma informed care into practice
