About the Role

Relational Minds is seeking a passionate and dedicated Mental Health Occupational Therapist to join our growing Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) in Sunbury, VIC. This part-time role (minimum one day per week, with Fridays as a required workday and Tuesdays/Wednesdays preferred) offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people and their families. The position is offered as a 12-month contract, with the possibility of an ongoing contract after that period.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Providing high-quality clinical assessments, therapy, and case management for children and adolescents presenting with a range of mental health concerns with a specific focus on occupational therapy assessments and interventions for children and adolescents with mental health challenges, including anxiety, ASD, ADHD, emotional regulation difficulties, and trauma-related concerns.
  • Supporting young people in developing functional life skills, including self-care, emotional regulation, sensory processing, and social engagement.
  • Collaborating with families, schools, and other healthcare providers to create individualised therapy plans.
  • Offering parent coaching and education to support family-based interventions.
  • Documenting assessments, progress notes, and reports in line with clinical and legal requirements.
  • Participating in clinical supervision, team meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of our CAMHS service

What We're Looking For

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience in mental health OT or working with children/adolescents with neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g., ASD, ADHD) is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of sensory processing, functional capacity assessments, and interventions that support emotional regulation.
  • Strong clinical assessment, mental health interventions and case management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing learning.
  • Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening ID & current Police Check required.
  • Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy or other attachment based therapy training desirable.
