About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Delivery Officer to join the Participation and Access team.
The Participation and Access team has a focus on inclusive early childhood education and care. The team work on a number of initiatives that aim to increase early childhood education engagement with a focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children with disability and additional needs, children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and those experiencing socio-economic disadvantage. This includes the design and development of complex policy initiatives and reforms that support organisational objectives and government commitments, as well as the delivery, monitoring and evaluation of projects and initiatives.
As a Senior Delivery officer, responsibilities include:
- Contract management of providers, including ECEC services and community organisations.
- Internal and external stakeholder engagement with a range of stakeholders including, ECEC directors, academics, community organisations.
- Project management of ad-hoc projects with a focus on increasing the access and participation of children in ECEC.

About you
You will be responsible for researching, analysing, and reviewing complex policy and service issues, identifying emerging trends, and developing evidence-based solutions to resolve problems and mitigate risks. You will manage and oversee all aspects of project planning, development, and implementation across a range of significant policy initiatives and projects, while providing expert advice to stakeholders.
The preferred candidate will:
- Have the ability to build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Have strong contract and project management skills
- Have experience in Early Education and Care program design, delivery and policy or strong transferable knowledge or experience.
- Have experience in implementing programs for children, families, and communities.
Key knowledge and experience
Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and/or experience.
A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.
Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
