The Opportunity

Associate Professor Mark Ward is looking for a friendly, reliable, hardworking and experienced Medical Receptionist to join our practice based in Glen Iris. The Medical Receptionist will be an integral part of the practice and is a key contributor to its efficient operation. A/Prof Ward is a busy gastroenterologist and endoscopist who works across multiple hospitals and prides himself on providing premium care and understanding to his patients.

You will be required to provide professional, service-oriented reception duties to the practice including:

• Meet and greet patients attending consultant appointments
• Book patient theatre and consultation appointments
• Process patient medical accounts including Medicare and private health funds
• Attend to incoming and outgoing correspondence
• Tidy and clean consulting rooms when required

To be successful in this role, you will have at least two years’ experience as a receptionist. It is essential that you are positive, reliable, flexible and willing to help out to do what is required. You will pick up systems and procedures quickly and be comfortable working in a busy clinic. An understanding of medical ethics is also a requirement of this position. In addition, you will possess sound administrative skills and computer literacy skills preferably with Gentu, demonstrate good time-management and excellent attention to detail.

This role is part-time (hours and days to be negotiated) and located at A/Prof Ward’s rooms at Glen Iris Private. Salary is above award and commensurate with experience. We are looking to have someone start as soon as possible. You must have the right to work in Australia.
