AMR have multiple positions available within our Patient Transport Services Team in the Griffith for Patient Transport Officers.

This is a chance to play a crucial role in ensuring patients within the community with mobility challenges or medical conditions receive safe and comfortable transport between health facilities.

The Company

Absolute Medical Response (AMR) has been operating since 1991 with the vision of providing quality medical care, customer service to the community/corporate clients with an improved standard of education in pre-hospital care, on site medical response, sporting events, industrial medical support, Work Injury Response Service (WIRS) and Non-Emergency Patient Transport.

AMR is registered, licensed and operates fleets in New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia and the Australian Capital Territory. AMR has provided private ambulance services in NSW longer than any other private ambulance provider

AMR is also an established RTO providing training in a wide range of health orientated fields, such as CPR and First Aid, Drug and Alcohol Testing, Non-Emergency Patient Transport, through to Diploma of Emergency Health Care. Opportunities are available for training and career development within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities of role:

  • Safe and timely transport patients between health facilities.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff to ensure a smooth and respectful transport experience.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to transport requests and emergencies.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Team player and self-directed individual.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member across varied shifts with a diverse workload.
  • Effective communication skills when dealing with stakeholders, patients, allied healthcare professionals and internal personnel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
  • Basic knowledge of safety and infection control practices.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting or patient transport role preferred.

Essential qualifications, memberships and licenses:

  • Current First Aid and CPR.
  • Current Class C Driver's License.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Current Police Check (<6 month).

Applicants must be willing to undergo a Pre-Employment Medical Check and Drug and Alcohol testing.

Remuneration is according to the Ambulance and Patient Transport Industry Award 2023 [MA000098].
