About the opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position plays a key role within our finance team. We are looking for an experienced finance professional who has high attention to detail, is proactive, and has strong communication skills. This is a multifaceted position that will cover a variety of financial and accounting functions, including:

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing bookkeeping functions and ensuring accurate processing, including the handling accounts payable/receivable transactions and reconciliation.
• Processing bank reconciliations, including credit cards maintaining the integrity of financial data.
• Assisting the CFO with month-end BAS and PAYG lodgements, adjustment journals, work paper preparation and balance sheet reconciliation.
• Assisting and supporting annual budgeting, forecasting and tax compliance functions.
• Contributing towards the preparation of financial reports for relevant governance committees and stakeholders.
• Managing finance and accounting activities to ensure compliance and best practices.
• Assisting the CFO with key projects and priorities.
• Supporting and driving process improvements across finance functions and corporate workflows.
• Liaising with suppliers, operations staff and internal stakeholders.
  

About You:

• Formal undergraduate qualification in accounting, business, or similar (essential).
• Minimally three years’ experience working within a similar finance position.
• Working towards CA or CPA qualification (desirable)
• Experience in processing end to end payroll, including superannuation and PAYG.
• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and GST legislation.
• Strong technological literacy with the ability to work across multi-disciplinary systems and platforms with proven experience in Xero (or similar), Microsoft suite, in particular, intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a drive for innovation and best practice.
• Ability to build rapport with a diverse range of stakeholders and a commitment to our organisational purpose and mission.
