RAPAD Skilling is an RTO (32295) falling under the governance of the Central Western Qld Remote Area Planning and Development Board, or RAPAD, as it is more commonly known (www.rapad.com.au).
RAPAD is a leader in regional and economic development, advocacy, and a proud and effective
delivery agency of many government programs.

RAPAD – Trading as RAPAD Skilling (RTO#32295) is a not-for-profit Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that delivers nationally recognised training.
RAPAD Skilling supports young people and adults to undertake training that will enhance their capabilities and give them the recognition of being able to study and complete nationally recognised training in their selected or potential industries.
RAPAD Skilling explores individual goals related to pathways into accredited training, whilst assisting the development of Language, Literacy and numeracy skills and building confidence, through the training sessions we deliver across a broad range of industries.
RAPAD Skilling courses are delivered in either one-on-one, small or large group settings depending on the needs of the client cohort that we are dealing with. Most of our training is conducted in person face to face in the location selected by our learners or their employers and is supported via zoom based live format training if/when required.

We are recruiting for one (1) Civil Construction Trainer/Assessor, specialising in Civil Construction Road construction and Maintenance and/or Plant Operations.

RAPAD Skilling supports Trainers and Assessors with paid professional development, all training materials and compliance documentation, and are committed to on-going improvements and efficiencies so you can focus on engagement and delivery.
RAPAD Skilling will endeavour to upskill, support and supervise new Trainers/Assessors or industry professionals wanting a career change.

Key responsibilities:
• Upon completion of all relevant Qualifications, deliver training/assessment to Learners.
• Provide a flexible and engaging approach to delivering educational programs to the Learner cohort
• Adapt training style and delivery method to accommodate Learner’s learning needs
• Demonstrate resilience and interpersonal skills to engage with a mixed cohort of Learners
• Maintain professional boundaries in the role
• Complete all documentation in line with company policy and procedures
• Manage challenges and barriers faced with delivering alternative education to the Learner cohort
• Time management skills, administrative skills, and ability to meet deadlines
• Strong written, oral, and digital literacy skills, and attention to detail
• Work within the requirements set out within company’s training and assessment strategies
• Work cohesively in a team environment
• Undertake regular training to ensure you understand and follow policies and procedures regarding Child Safe Standards and Mandatory reporting.
• Complete professional development that is provided by RAPAD Skilling

Selection criteria
1. Demonstrated ability to prepare lesson plans for training delivery encompassing a breakdown of the training into sessions for delivery to a student cohort.

2. Demonstrated high level of oral communication, interpersonal, and networking skills, including the ability to communicate with diverse cultural groups.

3. Demonstrated ability to self-motivate and to plan, manage and report on work, and to prioritise scheduling and training resource development for training delivery while working with a close-knit team of people.

4. Demonstrated and proficient computer skills, including skills with Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint, Outlook emails and Adobe PDF documentation.

5. Demonstrated awareness and understanding of the Work Health and Safety (WH&S) issues relating to employment as an RTO Trainer and Assessor.

6. Demonstrated abilities in relation to the delivery of training within the civil construction Industry.

Essential requirements to verify before commencement:

  • Current Open Unrestricted Driver’s license (Travel required in regional areas of QLD)
  • Certificate IV in TAE40122 Qualification or its equivalent (If not held, you must be willing to enrol in the training immediately and complete as soon as possible)
  • Qualifications in relation to the civil construction industry, and current relevant work history to verify attachment to the civil construction industry for the previous three years – RII30920 Certificate III in Civil Construction (Road Construction and maintenance or RII30820 Certificate III in civil construction (Plant Operations) or both.
  • Current Working with Children’s BlueCard or the ability to apply for the card in QLD.
