Are you an experienced mental health clinician who is motivated and enthusiastic and has the ability to lead a team? An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced clinician to work as part of and be the clinical lead at headspace Bondi Junction within the Youth Mental Health Team, Eastern Suburbs Mental Health Service.

This is a multi-disciplinary position open to nursing, social work, clinical psychology and occupational therapy. The
position has been graded as Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2; Social Work/Occupational Therapy Level 4 & Clinical Psychology.

The headspace Clinical Lead will provide leadership that facilitates the ongoing development of clinical practice at headspace Bondi Junction and will be responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring and review of the clinical governance framework. The Clinical Lead will provide high level clinical consultation and advice to clinicians (both salaried and contracted staff) to build capacity and ensure the delivery of high quality youth mental health and drug and alcohol services.

The position will provide clinical supervision, and be actively involved in quality projects, clinical research and the development and provision of targeted education. The position will also provide high level advice to support strategic and operational planning for the clinical services.

Selection Criteria:

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible.

  1. Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA with at least (5) years post registration experience within Mental Health and has approved post registration nursing qualifications relevant to the field or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate/Qualifications in Social Work, eligible for membership of an appropriate professional body/Qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration with AHPRA/Fully registered Psychologist with AHPRA with a Masters degree or higher in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology or some other recognised clinical area in psychology that the employer deems relevant to the functions of the position.
  2. Demonstrated experience in assessment, care planning, staff management and coordination with mental health experience & experience in community youth mental health or related areas.
  3. Proven clinical leadership skills with expertise in client-centred consultancy and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in clinical practice.
  4. Demonstrated effective communication and inter-personal skills across a variety of mediums and an understanding of the practice development framework.
  5. Proven ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the utilisation of evidence based research.
  6. Demonstrated skills in strategic and clinical service planning including an understanding of organisational behaviour, change management and cultural change processes.
  7. Demonstrated skills in clinical teaching, competency in the use of contemporary information systems and experience in the development of specialty education programs.
  8. A current NSW Driver’s Licence
