Brunton Engineering provides specialized engineering services to industrial organizations and infrastructure providers, focusing on civil and concrete projects, structural works, mechanical engineering, and railway infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities:

Your main responsibility will be to support our team to ensure the health and safety of all staff, contractors, and visitors to site. You will do this by working with management to ensure that all sites comply with relevant Work Health and Safety legislative requirements. This will include:

• Safety Administration including reports and preparation of SWMS - ensuring that our system full complies with all applicable Standards, Legislative Requirements and Client Expectations
• Site inductions (plant/personnel/equipment)
• SWMS management and site compliance by employees and subcontractors
• Internal site auditing
• Toolbox meetings and training with employees and subcontractors
• Site walks / inspections
• Establishment and maintenance of risk registers and reports
• Provide advice to senior management and employees in relation to work health and safety compliance and initiatives
• Identify internal and external safety training needs for the company and implement accordingly
• Incident management, investigation, reporting and close out

The Applicant:

• 5+ years Safety Officer experience - construction industry or rail industry
• Experience with Rail Industry Worker, Hammertech and Assignar systems highly preferred
• Intermediate - Proficient in Word and Excel
• High level of effective verbal and interpersonal as well as written communication skills
• Time management skills with the ability to prioritise and multi-task
• Proactive + has a flexible and willing “can do” attitude
