As the Coordinator FDV Coordinated Response Service, you will provide a person-centred, trauma informed, comprehensive and coordinated response to individuals and families impacted by family and domestic violence.
You will work in partnership with the Department of Communities (Child Protection and Family Support) and WA Police, improving the safety of child and adult victims of family and domestic violence. You will participate in the joint triage of FDV incident reports, provide risk assessments and culturally appropriate and secure responses to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities, deliver face-to-face outreach to adult and child victims and advocate with and on behalf of clients with a strength based and child inclusive approach.
This is a full-time parental leave contract starting finishing 31 December 2025, based in Kununurra.
What you bring
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, Counselling or in a related discipline (an exemption to this may apply to applicants who have demonstrated equivalent knowledge of and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people or who are Aboriginal)
- Experience in assessing and managing risk and counselling clients affected by FDV
- Skills to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders, especially Aboriginal people, including ability to communicate sensitively and effectively
- Knowledge of current theories, practice and literature in the area of FDV, including an understanding of the impact of inter-generational trauma and ‘Best Practice’ models of intervention for FDV
- Knowledge of Aboriginal culture and communities, history and context, including knowledge of local community infrastructure and networks
The successful candidate must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, WA Working with Children Card and a WA Drivers Licence.

- $105,696full time salary (includes 10% remote allowance) + 11.5% superannuation.
