About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Officer to join our dedicated team at Byron Bay Preschool. This part-time position is located in Byron Bay, NSW 2481 and will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of our thriving organisation.

What you'll be doing

• Processing accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions in a timely and accurate manner
• Reconciling bank statements and monitoring cash flow
• Preparing financial reports and assisting with month-end and year-end accounting tasks
• Providing administrative support to the leadership team
• Liaising with suppliers, parents and other stakeholders as needed
• Ensuring compliance with ACNC and regulations

What we're looking for

• Relevant experience as an Accounts Officer or Accounts Clerk, preferably in an education or not-for-profit setting
• Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical skills
• Proficiency in using the accounting software, Xero
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles and best practices
