About the role

This is a casual position as an HC Driver - Sideloader Operator for PITKIN TRANSPORT SERVICE PTY LTD in Camellia, NSW. After the probational period, there is scope to transition into a full-time role. Alternatively, we will entertain ABN drivers if preferred.

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a heavy commercial vehicle equipped with a sideloader to transport goods within and around Sydney Metropolitan.

What you'll be doing

• Safely operate a heavy commercial vehicle to transport goods using a sideloader
• Conduct pre-start checks and maintain the vehicle in a safe and roadworthy condition
• Follow all relevant road rules and regulations, and adhere to company policies and procedures
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients and the transport allocator
• Use Freight Tracker on your smart phone to receive jobs and obtain proof of delivery [POD]

What we're looking for

• Valid Heavy Combination (HC) driver's licence
• Valid MSIC required, to gain access to DP World, Patricks and Hutchsion Ports
• Demonstrated experience operating a HAMMAR sideloader
• Knowledge and experience navigating your way around the Sydney empty container depots
• Excellent driving skills and knowledge of road safety practices
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
• Good communication and customer service skills
